Epi's Legendary Cultivar: Fast-Acting, Blissful and Uplifting
A legendary cultivar from the island of Epi, Kelai is known for its remarkably uplifting, cerebral character that manifests almost instantly. Dr Vincent Lebot and colleagues described Kelai as "the pinnacle achievement" of cultivar selection, the result of centuries selecting for the most enjoyable characteristics. So prized on Epi that most is consumed locally rather than exported, Kelai is a favourite for social sessions and unwinding after demanding days.
Character: Intensely heady with pure mental brightness and minimal body heaviness. Fast onset with relatively short duration, popular for focused sessions and social gatherings. Known for a clean finish without lingering heaviness.
Taste & Aroma: Smooth and creamy with notes of ripe bananas, dark chocolate, and almonds. Mild cashewy sweetness with subtle zesty heat.
Instant Format: Traditional kava powder contains coarse, woody fibres that must be strained out before drinking. For our instant kava, freshly harvested roots are washed, peeled, and have these fibres carefully removed prior to drying and milling into an ultra-fine powder. This is why you can enjoy it without any straining or kneading, just mix with water.

Really good & would buy again as an alcohol alternative. The taste is terrible, but i expected that and it actually means I don’t simply switch one habit to another because it isn’t very easy to drink.
Surprisingly effective. I have always been using the 'normal' grind version which is fine, if you're not in a rush, cool it before filling a thermos. Yes it definitely kicks in quicker (for me) and doesn't seem to last as long, but of course it's a more 'refined' grind. So kinda expected that. Much dearer cup for cup than buying a kilo of the standard grind. When compared to a high alcohol IPA beer it's on par but better for you.
